Description

Our own original design and one of a kind Tasting Table.

68 inches long by 20 inches wide by 36 inches high

With a base of brown Maple the legs are reversed tapered with Yew wood cuffs. The Craftsman detail is made of Yew wood that is 1/2 lapped into the triple Maple stretcher using open bridle and dovetail joinery. The Yew wood buttons add the final accent this piece, it is sure to draw some attention.

The floating top is Figured Maple in a “Bread Board” configuration with Yew wood splines and a glass insert. The arched top support is brown Maple.

The finish is hand scraped and 3 coats of oil modified water-borne polyurethane and paste wax  were used to seal the wood.

The woods used and the dimensions of each piece can be customized to suit your needs. Handcrafted in Limited Edition.

Original signature piece by Saratoga Woodworks, the inspiration was drawn from a classical 17th century “ming” wine table, melded with some of our westcoast craftsman details. The top is figured Maple arranged in the bread board style, with a substantial plate glass inset that creates an openness that projects light onto the base details. The legs are connected to the top with full length gently arched sub aprons with cross members to create a floating top. The Brown Maple legs have reverse taper with pillowed tops. They receive the top sub aprons with an open bridle joint to allow for the end projection detail.

The bottom rails secure the legs together with handcrafted mortise and tenon joints. The base stretcher parts are let into the rails with precise half-lap joinery. The pacific Yew wood center detail is also connected with the same precision half-lap. Bringing it all together are some of our other signature details… Yew wood breadboard splines, Yew wood cuffs on the legs and pillowed rectangular Yew wood buttons. This table is crafted at counter height, so as the name suggests, would lend itself to fine wine, delicate glasses and guests assembled for a warm friendly tasting experience, gracing your entry or hallway or maybe a sofa table. This is truly a stand alone accent piece for any room.
